This lake breeze enhanced surface convergence, which played a role in the formation of a thunderstorm that produced hail as large as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/climo\/reports\/190605_rpts.html\"><strong>2.50 inches<\/strong><\/a> in diameter when a prominent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/06\/190605_goes16_visible_WI_hail_report_anim.gif\">overshooting top<\/a><\/strong> was evident (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/grb\/190605_hail\"><strong>NWS Green Bay<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The lake breeze also caused sharp drops in surface air temperature &#8212; from low 80s to middle 50s F &#8212; along with fog reducing visibility to 0.5 mile or less at Milwaukee and Racine in southeastern Wisconsin <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.
