The tropical cyclone reached Category 4 intensity (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/02\/180212_adt_Gita.gif\"><strong>ADT<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/02\/180212_satcon_Gita.gif\"><strong>SATCON<\/strong><\/a>) near the end of the animation period.<\/p>\n<p>A longer animation of Himawari-8 Infrared images<em><strong> (below)<\/strong><\/em> revealed that the center of Gita moved just south of the main island of Tongatapu.
