A NOAA-18 Infrared Window (10.8 \u00b5m) image at 0320 UTC <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> showed cold air drainage into river valleys, with the coldest infrared brightness temperatures around -40\u00baC\/-40\u00baF<em> (darker blue color enhancement)<\/em>. Chicken is located about midway between Eagle (PAEG) and Northway (PAOR), where 03 UTC surface air temperatures were -17\u00baF and -24\u00baF, respectively. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/11\/171119_PAEG_SFCMG.GIF\"><strong>PAEG<\/strong><\/a> reached their minimum temperature around 11 UTC after additional hours of cloud-free radiational cooling.<\/p>\n<p>An automated RAWS site at Chicken reached a minimum temperature of <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/11\/171119_Chicken_AK_CKNA2.text\"><strong>-34\u00baF at 1120 UTC<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; the dew point at that time was -42\u00baF.
