Irma moved through that region on <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/09\/170910_viirs.jpg\"><strong>10 September<\/strong><\/a> as a Category 3 hurricane &#8212; and even though the center of Irma moved northward off\/along the <u>west<\/u> coast of Florida (with a wind gust to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/09\/170910_KEYW_SFCMG.GIF\">75 mph<\/a><\/strong> at Key West) , the strongest winds were recorded along\/near the <u>east<\/u> coast of Florida: wind gusts to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/archive\/2017\/al11\/al112017.update.09101658.shtml?\"><strong>92 mph<\/strong><\/a> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/archive\/2017\/al11\/al112017.update.09101557.shtml?\">109 mph<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/discussions\/nfdscc2.html\"><strong>142 mph<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; stirring up particulates within the shallow Continental Shelf waters.<\/p>\n<p><em>* GOES-16 data posted on this page are preliminary, non-operational and are undergoing testing *<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Large-scale (CONUS) VIIRS true-color before-Irma and after-Irma images are available <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/spottedcow.ssec.wisc.edu\/products\/viirs\/mosaic\/USA\/jpeg\/USA.npp.20170907.01_04_03_01_08.750m.jpg\">here<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/spottedcow.ssec.wisc.edu\/products\/viirs\/mosaic\/USA\/jpeg\/USA.npp.20170912.01_04_03_01_08.750m.jpg\">here<\/a><\/strong>.
