On 20 June, one of the GOES-16 <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/archives\/23225\"><strong>Mesoscale Sectors<\/strong><\/a> was positioned\u00a0 over PTC3 and\u00a0 provided 1-minute imagery &#8212; Visible\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/education\/docs\/ABI-bands-FS\/ABI%20Fact%20Sheet%20Band%202.pdf\"><strong>0.64 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>)\u00a0 and\u00a0 Infrared Window (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/education\/docs\/ABI-bands-FS\/ABI_Band_13_FS_CLEAN_LW_IR_FINAL.pdf\"><strong>10.3\u00a0 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) images <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> showed deep convective bursts moving northward to reveal an exposed Low Level Circulation Center (LLCC).<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/170621_goes16_visible_infrared_TS_Cindy_anim.mp4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/958x638_GOES16A_B213_G16_VIS_IR_CINDY_21JUN2017_2017172_161757_0002PANELS.GIF\" alt=\"GOES-16 Visible (0.64 \u00b5m, left) and Infrared Window (10.3 \u00b5m, right) images, with hourly surface\/buoy\/ship reports plotted in yellow [click to play MP4 animation]\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">GOES-16 Visible (0.64 \u00b5m, left) and Infrared Window (10.3 \u00b5m, right) images, with hourly surface\/buoy\/ship reports plotted in yellow [click to play MP4 animation]<\/p><\/div>Early in the day on 21 June, 1-minute GOES-16 Visible and Infrared Window images<em><strong> (above)<\/strong><\/em> showed multiple LLCC features associated with PTC3, with deep convection remaining well to the north\/northwest. In addition, Mid-level Water Vapor (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/education\/docs\/ABI-bands-FS\/ABIBand9_MidLevelWV_IR_FINAL.pdf\"><strong>6.9\u00a0 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> indicated that a large amount of dry air had wrapped into the southern and eastern portions of the storm circulation.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/170621_goes16_visible_water_vapor_TS_Cindy_anim.mp4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Suomi NPP VIIRS Visible (0.64 \u00b5m) and Infrared Window (11.45 \u00b5m) images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> &#8212; and PTC3 was upgraded to Tropical Storm Cindy.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a product covering the 19-24 June period<em><strong> (below)<\/strong><\/em> showed\u00a0 the northward transport of rich tropical moisture into the Gulf\u00a0 Coast states, which then moved northeastward toward the Northeast US bringing heavy rainfall and flooding to many locations (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/170624_Cindy_wpc_summary.text\"><strong>WPC storm summary<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width:
