The storm produced <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/02\/160207_mhx_pns_rainfall.text\"><strong>moderate to heavy rainfall<\/strong><\/a> across eastern North Carolina, along with some light to moderate snow and sleet at a few locations.<\/p>\n<p>A closer view of the GOES-14 Visible (0.63 \u00b5m) images <em><strong>(below; <\/strong>also available as a large 85 Mbyte<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/02\/160207_goes14_visible_Gulf_Stream_storm_anim.gif\">animated GIF<\/a>)<\/strong><\/em> revealed the rapid motion of low-altitude clouds when gaps in the high-altitude clouds were present. Very strong winds were caused by the strong pressure gradient, with <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/02\/160207_mhx_pns.text\"><strong>gusts as high as 72 mph<\/strong><\/a>, and a large Royal Caribbean cruise ship experienced some damage due to the winds (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2016\/02\/08\/anthem-cruise-ship-storm\/79997114\/\"><strong>media report 1<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridatoday.com\/story\/weather\/2016\/02\/08\/strong-storms-wreak-havoc-royal-caribbean-cruise-ship\/79996310\/\"><strong>media report 2<\/strong><\/a>).
