After sunrise, AWIPS II images of GOES-13 0.63 \u00b5m visible channel data<em><strong> (above; click image to play animation)<\/strong><\/em> revealed a well-defined low-level circulation spinning just to the west of Bermuda. It is interesting to note that at 12:55 UTC a waterspout was reported 4 km to the east of the Bermuda International Airport (station identifier TXKF), associated with a band of deep convection that was moving northward<em><strong> (below)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/09\/140929_13z_g13_vis_txkf_metar.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/09\/140929_13z_g13_vis_txkf_metar.png\" alt=\"GOES-13 0.63 \u00b5m visible channel image with Bermuda METAR observation\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">GOES-13 0.63 \u00b5m visible channel image with Bermuda METAR observation<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An overpass of a Metop satellite at 14:38 UTC provided a good view of the surface wind field with data from the ASCAT scatterometer instrument <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.
