A sequence of hourly global composite IR images from the <a title=\"SSEC RealEarth web map server\" href=\"http:\/\/wms.ssec.wisc.edu\/\"><strong>SSEC RealEarth<\/strong><\/a> web map server (<a title=\"Animated GIF\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/09\/140901_global_ir_anim.gif\"><strong>Animated GIF<\/strong><\/a> | <a title=\"MP4 movie file\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/09\/140901_global_ir_anim.mp4\"><strong>MP4 movie file<\/strong><\/a> | <a title=\"YouTube video\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/oqAh_BfIINQ\"><strong>YouTube video<\/strong><\/a>) showed the void of tropical activity &#8212; until Tropical Depression 5 formed late in the day in the Gulf of Mexico.
