EUMETSAT Meteosat-10 1-km resolution 0.7 \u00b5m visible channel images <em><strong>(above; click image to play animation; also available as an <a title=\"MP4 movie file\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/140609_meteosat10_vis_France_hail_anim.mp4\">MP4 movie file<\/a>)<\/strong><\/em> and 3-km resolution 10.8 \u00b5m IR channel images <em><strong>(below; click image to play animation; also available as an <a title=\"MP4 movie file\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/140609_meteosat10_ir_France_hail_anim.mp4\">MP4 movie file<\/a>)<\/strong><\/em> revealed some interesting details in the thunderstorm structure: a narrow flanking line was seen on the visible imagery, and the storms exhibited well-defined &#8220;enhanced-V&#8221; signatures and thermal couplets on the IR imagery.
