Cyclone Ita exhibited a period of rapid intensification (<a title=\"Advanced Dvorak Technique plot\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/04\/140410_adt_Cyclone_Ita.gif\"><strong>Advanced Dvorak Technique plot<\/strong><\/a>) early on 10 April, reaching Category 4 intensity (<a title=\"Joint Typhoon Warning Center advisory\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/04\/140410_21z_pgtw_advisory_Ita.text\"><strong>JTWC advisory<\/strong><\/a>) on the Saffir-Simpson scale (or a Category 5 on the Australian intensity scale: <a title=\"Australian Bureau of Meteorology advisory\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/04\/140410_22:55z_bom_advisory_Ita.text\"><strong>BOM advisory<\/strong><\/a>).
