Numerous traffic accidents resulted from the ice-covered roads, with a few fatalities reported. A day after the event, a Terra MODIS true-color Red\/Green\/Blue (RGB) image from the <a title=\"SSEC MODIS Today site\" href=\"http:\/\/ge.ssec.wisc.edu\/modis-today\/index.php?satellite=t1&amp;product=true_color&amp;date=2014_01_25_025&amp;overlay_sector=false&amp;overlay_state=true&amp;overlay_coastline=true\"><strong>SSEC MODIS Today<\/strong><\/a> site at 17:03 UTC on 25 January <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> showed the remaining swath of snow on the ground <em>(including locations of some of the more significant reports of snowfall, sleet accumulation, and ice accrual from freezing rain)<\/em>.
