EUMETSAT Meteosat-10 0.75 \u00c2\u00b5m visible channel images <em><strong>(above; click image to play animation)<\/strong><\/em> showed the explosive development of the volcanic plume beginning around <a title=\"09:30 UTC visible image\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/11\/131123_MET10_VIS_ETNA_15.GIF\"><strong>09:30 UTC<\/strong><\/a>; the plume then moved rapidly northeastward across far southern Italy, eventually moving over Albania around <a title=\"13:00 UTC visible image\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/11\/131123_MET10_VIS_ETNA_29.GIF\"><strong>13:00 UTC<\/strong><\/a>. A number of lightning strikes within the billowing ash plume can be seen in an HD-quality <a title=\"YouTube video of Etna eruption\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GcyRYY_Z9KY\"><strong>YouTube video<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Satellite signatures of an earlier eruption were discussed <a title=\"Suomi\/NPP sees the Mt.
