As Phailin tracked northwestward across the Bay of Bengal, it underwent a period of rapid intensification on 10 October, as indicated by the <a title=\"Automated Dvorak Technique (ADT)\" href=\"http:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\/misc\/adt\/info.html\"><strong>Automated Dvorak Technique (ADT)<\/strong><\/a> intensity estimate plot <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.
