This animation of GOES-12 visible channel images shows the development of a large cloud of blowing dust across the Texas panhandle region on 24 February 2007. Strong winds gusted to 60-70 mph across that area, which also helped to fuel some wildfire activity (some smoke plumes can be seen just to the south of the larger dust plume feature).
