Water

Water (H2O), two hydrogen atoms attracted and bonded to one oxygen atom, is an amazing substance intricately linked to all levels of existence. Humans are about 65% water, the water content in our blood is closer to 90%. Even though we can exist on a gallon (3.6 litres) of water each day, most people in western society consume closer to 90 gallons (about 324 litres) of water per day.

Water is the only substance on Earth that exists naturally in the three phases of gas, liquid and solid.
When water changes phases, energy is either consumed or released, sometimes explosively.

There is approximately 326 million trillion gallons (1,173 million trillion litres) of water on Earth, most is in the oceans while only 3% is fresh water.

Short of mining for water on another planet, Earth has all the water it will ever have. The water we drink has been recycled for eons, connecting each of us to prehistoric volcanic eruptions, medieval civilizations, and all future generations.
