{"id":5,"date":"2021-11-03T15:54:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-03T20:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/isccp-ng\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2024-02-21T09:13:17","modified_gmt":"2024-02-21T15:13:17","slug":"home-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/isccp-ng\/","title":{"rendered":"ISCCP-NG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) pioneered the development of multi-decadal cloud climate records (1983-present) from the operational meteorological geostationary imagers.  In 2022+,the entire globe will be encircled by a new generation of advanced geostationary imagers(ABI,AHI,AMI,FCI,AGRI etc). The Next Generation of the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP-NG) is proposed by GEWEX as a follow-on to the classic ISCCP to capitalize on these new capabilities. These sensors will provide full-disk scans every 10-15 minutes with roughly 18 (12 common) channels and with spatial resolutions of 2km for thermal channels and finer spatial resolutions for selected solar channels.
