International MODIS/AIRS Processing Package

 MODIS Direct Broadcast (DB) Surface Reflectance (MOD09) v1.0 release                  06 May 2011

   Release of a stand alone package that uses input MODIS 1km, 500m, 250m L1B and geolocation files and creates a Surface Reflectance product that provides an estimate of the surface spectral reflectance as it would be measured at ground level in the absence of atmospheric scattering or absorption. Data are corrected for atmospheric gases and aerosols.

The MOD_PR09 algorithm used in this package is the same as the algorithm used for global MODIS Collection 5 processing at NASA GSFC. The only changes to the code in this package were to allow processing of arbitrary sized granules, and to simplify the ancillary data requirements. The code version is v5.3.18 (April 2007). The MOD_PR09 algorithm was developed for the NASA MODIS Science Team by Eric Vermote and Jim Ray. The MOD_PRDS destriping algorithm that is used in the code was developed for the NASA MODIS Science Team by Liam Gumley and Nazmi Saleous.
