This loop of GOES-8 visible imagery shows the pulsing of overshooting tops associated with strong convection within the central dense overcast (CDO) region of the system. Heavy rains produced flooding beneath this CDO feature in the Texas counties outlined in black. Counties outlined in cyan were affected by heavy rains from more shallow convection within a feeder band which developed north of the center of the circulation. Surface winds (knots) and weather conditions (R-/R/R+ = light/moderate/heavy rain; W = shower; F = fog) are also plotted on the imagery.
