This loop of hourly GOES-8 InfraRed imagery shows the eastward progression of the intense squall line across the Gulf of Mexico and northern/central Florida. Colder cloud top temperatures are color-enhanced (magenta = -20 C, green = -40 C, yellow = -60 C, black = -80 C). At 6-hour intervals the ETA model 500 hPa height (cyan) and vorticity (red) contours are overlaid on the images.
