This loop of GOES-8 10.7 micrometer InfraRed (IR) imagery shows the development of convection over the Midwest region on 11 September 2000. The satellite was placed into Rapid Scan Operations (RSO) mode, allowing imagery at 5-10 minute intervals during much of this period.
