Wagner http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/wvssii/ Weather conditions: The squall line did not cause too much difficulty, as the Kentucky Air National Guard base saw only a few lightning flashes. (Lightning was > 2 miles away and posed no threat to the operators). Temperatures relatively constant in the upper 60s, with strong southerly winds weakening and shift to come out of the west. Temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s. Clouds increasing from broken altocumulus deck to overcast. Rain conditions at launch time described below. Instrument status: AERIbago: All systems operating normally. Intermittent rain caused frequent AERI hatch closures and openings in order to protect interferometer optis from rain. Radiosonde: Operating and archiving. 3 radiosonde launches completed tonight. All times wre coordianted with UPS Meteorology, UPS Flight control, and FAA SDF: 0359. Launch normal. No rain. 0749. Launch normal. Moderate rain before launch, but lessening to light rain at launch time. Sonde manually terminated 240 mb to prepare for the next launch. 0856. Launch normal. Very light rain. Sonde manually terminated at 150 mb. Science/Miscellaneous: This is the final launch for operator Kris Bedka. There will be no launches until ~0330 UTC on Tuesday 14 November (9:30 PM EST Monday 13 November). Sonde data should be viewable via the NOAA ESRL (formerly FSL) ACARS data viewer.
