Mission: MODIS Snow mission with Terra (1630 UTC).
Mission Objectives
Overfly ground based measurement sites in clear sky New Hampshire for assessing MODIS snow product at about local noon. These sites will be in view (30 deg view angle) of MODIS on Terra to the west of NH ER-2 flight will transect the Terra overpass at 1630 UTC on transit over L. Ontario.
Flight Summary
Take-off at 1500 UTC. ER-2 landed at 2105 UTC.
ER-2 flew from MSN towards OSH, and proceeded east on transit to Lake Ontario where it crossed Terra suborbital track (1630 UTC) at about the center of the Lake. Skies clear on the entire transit from WI to NH. Flew 6 snow lines in NH in clear skies on backside of departing low pressure. Collected AirMISR data segments over Lake Ontario (1623-1635 UTC) and on 5th snow line (1814-1826 UTC) in NH.

ER-2 and MODIS data over patchy snowcover in NH and over clear sky Lake Ontario (across MODIS swath).
