Mission Objectives

Ferry ER-2 aircraft with MAS and RC-10 camera system to Madison. Overfly Lake Tahoe (if clear sky) and Denver Intl Airport (if clear).

Flight Summary

Take off at 1800 UTC. ER-2 landed at MSN at 2200 UTC. ER-2 overflew Lake Mono with some clear, some snow, and some cloud in the scene. Lake Tahoe was not overflown due to overcast conditions. ER-2 also overflew Denver Intl but it was overcast.

Highlights

ER-2 made it to Madison. Was probably last chance weatherwise to get ER-2 to MSN before next Monday Jan 28.

Instrument Status

• Modis Airborne Simulator (MAS): Operated. Exabyte tape failed to collect data.
• Cloud Lidar System (CLS): Not On Board.
• High-Resolution Interferometer Sounder (HIS): Not On Board
• Millimeter-wave Imaging Radiometer (MIR): Not On Board
• Tilt Scan CCD Camera (TSCC): Not On Board
• RC-10 Camera: Operated only for brief intervals (black and white - 6 inch lens). Data OK.

Additional Pilot Notes:. No fail lights from MAS although no data was collected by Exabyte tape. The tape apparently did spin though.
