Science/Miscellaneous: Some of you may already know this, but we noticed today that the Memphis branch of the NWS has a description of the TAMDAR GLFE off of their page... it even has a picture of John Short holding a weather balloon. You can view it at http://www.srh.noaa.gov/zme/TAMDAR.htm. Also, we noticed a couple of days ago that profiles from the AERIbago were referenced in one of their discussions. It's great to know that people are using this data! The 0100, 1430, and 1615 launches today were cancelled to preserve sondes for tomorrow morning. SPC has the Memphis area in a slight risk for severe thunderstorm activity after 18z monday. This lines up well with the Memphis TAF with shows TEMPO thunderstorm activity after 18z. Model runs continue to show warm front passage by mid morning monday, with a strong cold front through the region by mid afternoon. Dewpoints should make it into the lower 50s before fropa, along with a few peeks of the sun. Large hail and strong winds should occur with the stronger storms. The operators have 2 sondes remaining within the AERIbago, more are scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning. AERIBago contact number: 608-219-0565 If you or anyone you know would like to be included on this email list please respond to these summaries with your contact information.
