The High-Resolution Interferometer Sounder (HIS) was developed at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Space Science and Engineering Center (UW-SSEC).  The HIS has participated in many prominent field experiments worldwide since its birth in the mid 1980's, and has clearly demonstrated its capabilities for remote sensing the atmosphere and surface.

Data file links allow you to download the data contained on this CD.  A Java applet is also included to allow you to view the data, as well as codes to read the HIS binary data files in three languages: FORTRAN, C, and MATLAB.

To aid your analysis, in addition to the calibrated HIS data files we have included: plots of the ER-2 flight track,ER-2 mission summary statement, MODIS Airborne Simulator (MAS) quick look images, a quick look summary of the HIS data are included for each day, and time cross sections of AERI (Atmospheric Emitted Radiance Interferometer) ten minute temperature and water vapor retrievals.
