The Kuroshio Current (also called the Japan Current) is the second strongest ocean current in the world after the Gulf Stream and is famous for its strong, fast flow in the North Pacific Ocean. This activity features an image acquired by the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS-PM (AMSR-E) (*2) aboard the Aqua satellite depicting sea-surface temperatures around Japan from April 2004.
