International Summer School on
Applications with the Newest Multi-spectral Environmental Satellites

Objectives
An in depth explanation of methods and techniques used to extract information from meteorological and environmental satellite data, with emphasis on the latest measuring technologies.
The course will consist of lectures, laboratory sessions, group lab projects, homework and tests.

English is the official language of the School. All provided material will be in English.

Who can attend the School
Participants must have an academic degree in either Meteorology, Physics, Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering.
The maximum number of students is 30. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their curriculum vitae and proved experiences in the field objectives of the School.

A Selection Committee will examine all applications and decide the list of participants, based on the information provided in the Application Form and the curriculum vitae.

Up to 12 full scholarships will be available to young candidates who need travel support; this will include the application fee. The selected participants will be reached via email by 1 April 2007.

Cancellation refunds will be made for written cancellations received by the school secretariat prior to 1 May 2007. No refunds will be made for cancellations after this date.

Application fees
The application fee is 100 € payable at registration time by following instructions contained in an email confirmation. Nonscholarship applicants must transfer this fee to the account indicated in the e-mail confirmation. This fee covers teaching equipment and secretarial support and the social dinner. This does not include the cost of accommodation.
