ALEX HARRINGTON

Hello. Thank you for visiting the personal page of Alex Harrington. I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I am studying meteorology. I have been intrigued by weather and its power since the youthful age of five. In fact, I've been told by my parents, that one stormy evening, I knelt on the front lawn, praying for a tornado. Yes, I was, and still am, nuts about the raw power of nature. It was at that innocent age of five that my passion for weather began to grow. Even today, the "obesession", if you will, is just as noticeable.

I work at the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science building in Madison, Wisconsin. There, I work as an undergraduate, working with Bob Aune and the CRAS Model. Recenltly, Bob and I created a site-specific forecast page for the state of Wisconsin (URL on main page). Currently, Bob and I are looking to the future with the CRAS model; in hope, creating a fog product for the DOT. If I am not working at the AOS building, then one could be assured to find me at GAP: the second job (poor college student here).

In my spare time, I enjoy performing in theater. I have been a thespian since the age of five as well. Some say that I'll be a tap dancing meteorologist. Of that, we'll see. Nonetheless, theater has been another passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have had the honor of doing off-Broadway shows, with Broadway director, Mike Stanek, during the past two years. Some shows include, "Crazy For You" and "Back on Broadway". I continue to tap dance to this very date (flap-ball-change). Besides theater, I enjoy a lot of outdoor activities. One might catch me running on State Street nearly every day, or lifting at the NAT (yes, my muscles are showing...finally).

I live in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, which is nestled in the Wisconsin River Valley, about 30 miles west of Madison. I still live with my parents and my sister. I should mention that we have other family members too, which include some outdoor cats; oddly enough they think they own the house. Other than Mazomanie, I reside during the fall and winter on Lake Street. As forementioned, I will be a junior, studying to be the next Bob Lindmeier. That basically explains who Alex Harrington is. I hope that my site has had some use to you, as I've found it easier for myself to access these pages by compiling them into one. Thanks again for visiting my site. :)
