A new composite product was developed for the MSPPS display program. It shows the snow cover, precipitation and surface wetness (due to snow melt, flooding and precipitation). Each parameter is displayed in different colors (see scale at bottom of the two-top figures). It also shows the change in wetness over a six-twelve hour period in the two bottom figures. Since wetness contains memory, this is used to identify the rapid changes in wetness due to rain events, which can be missed from the instantaneous precipitation measurements alone.
