The World Data Center for Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere is still one of our main activities in the department. In the meanwhile it is both an ICSU and a WMO data centre. The updated logo and an updated description you can find under:
http://wdc.dlr.de/about/
http://wdc.dlr.de/data_products/CLOUDS/ lists the different products available in the WDC as e.g. clouds.
| Daily Cloud Top Height from GOME-2 | GOME-2 | Data Access |
| Daily Cloud Top Albedo (ROCINN) from GOME-2 | GOME-2 | Data Access |
| Daily Cloud Fraction (OCRA) from GOME-2 | GOME-2 | Data Access |
| Daily NRT Cloud Physical Parameters from AVHRR | NOAA/AVHRR | Data Access |
| Cloud Physical Parameters over Europe and Africa from SEVIRI | MSG/SEVIRI | Data Access |
A method description for the NOAA satellite cloud parameters can be found at
http://wdc.dlr.de/apollo/ (Gerhard Gesell is responsible) and for MSG at http://wdc.dlr.de/data_products/CLOUDS/clouds_seviri.php (my responsibility).
These pages give citations and provide the data access description.
As EUMETSAT has started to process ATOVS routinely with METOP, we didn’t feel the need to continue our scientific processing system based on AAPP/IAPP anymore. But still there is data from NOAA 14 and 16 over Europe in our archive. See http://wdc.dlr.de/sensors/tovs/ for this information and data.
We also process daily TWC from SEVIRI for atmospheric correction purposes. See http://wdc.dlr.de/data_products/TRACEGASES/seviri_twc/daily_twc_seviri.php for that.
