Dear friends and colleagues,
On Saturday September 6 there was a serious accident at the
Lockheed-Martin facility in Sunnyvale California. As NOAA-N' was being
rotated from vertical to horizontal, it fell, causing considerable
damage to the spacecraft. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the nearby
NOAA-N spacecraft was not harmed. We do not yet know that the impact
will be on the NOAA-N' launch schedule or on other programs. There is a
news article posted at www.spacenews.com. I will discuss this in my
talk at the upcoming ITSC-13.
