International MODIS/AIRS Processing Package

 MODIS Level 2 v2.2 release     6 February 2012

   Update to the IMAPP MODIS Level 2 product software package. Updates include:

  • Additional Polar Products
    • A new suite of polar retrieval product software is now included that will generate these products:

    • 1 km Snow Mask
    • 1 km Ice Surface and Surrounding Water Temperatures
    • 1 km Ice Cover and Ice Concentration
    • 1 km Inversion Strength (C) and Inversion Depth (km)

    The polar product software was developed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison cryosphere team headed by Dr. Jeffrey Key, NOAA/ASPB. The new set of polar products will be created if the center of the MODIS pass is north of 60 North Latitude or South of 60 South Latitude.

  • Ancillary Data Acquisition Scripts
    The ancillary data download scripts have been rewritten to use the GNU unix 'wget' command instead of 'ncftpget'. The scripts will use the wget program that it finds on the run machine. This will make it easier for users to access ancillary data that is filtered through proxy servers. A new environmental variable has been added to the /env scripts that can be set to the tell wget to use a specific proxy.
  • Atmospheric Profiles (MOD07)
    The MOD07 MODIS Atmospheric Profiles software package has been updated to version Beta Collect 6. These updates include new coefficient files and redefined vertical levels of Water_Vapor_Low and Water_Vapor_High.
