AERI-bago Daily Summary

Weather Conditions:

Partly to mostly cloudy, becoming clear by afternoon.  Much cooler than
previous days with temperatures in the upper 70's and low 80's due to
cold front passage.  Rain event from about 1000 to 1350 UTC.  Air
remains relatively moist with dewpoints in the upper 50's to low 60's,
but no rain for the rest of the UTC day.

Instrument Status:

AERI operating well.  Stirling cooler also operating well.  Everything
else is green.

Science:
A down day for IHOP.  A scheduled Boundary Layer Heterogeneity mission
was cancelled and may proceed tomorrow as an alternate. Planning telecon
indicates tomorrow will be a busy day with the Boundary Level Evolution
mission to take center stage and all available resources thrown at it.

Miscellaneous:
Quite slick going when Kevin arrived to the AERI-bago due to the earlier
rains (about 1/4-1/2 inch).  Dried up by the end of the day. Kevin took
a 4-mile ride "around the block" on the bike on the back of the bago.
John Mecikalski showed up around 2100 UTC for preparation for talks with
people at S-POL and possible tour of the bago tomorrow. John was
impressed with the cozy environs of the bago and said he might come back
out to get some work done.  Kevin and John talked with the owner of the
Homestead property who said he just killed a rattlesnake down the road.
Maybe Kevin shouldn't be taking bike rides ... :)
