-----------------------

Date: 22 May 2002 CST (Wednesday)
Location: Homestead Site, IHOP
Operator: W. Feltz, R. Tanamachi, T. Achtor

Weather Conditions:
Very windy and dusty, dewpoints have increased to 50 F (moisture has returned) and the dryline formed right over the homestead site. Dewpoints flucuated between 40 and 52F.  Guymon and Liberal has dewpoints in the mid-20's.   Very interesting boundary.  Scattered Cu overhead in a narrow line on dryline, clear east and west.  Max wind gust 45 mph.

Instrument Status:
AERI performing well.  Need to investigate data for dust emission measurements.  Surface station also performing well.

Science:
Updated cross-sectional view of all the profiler AERI  data taken so far:

Convective initiation experiment conducted throughout area.  Mobile mesosnet investigated the dryline development.   Dryline set up over the homestead and S-Pol sites, very interesting to see the dewpoints fluctuate by 15 degrees in a period of a few minutes.  Rita Roberts, Fleur Couvreux, and Crystal Pettet have been using the AERI data at S-Pol for nowcasting, there only compliant was to increase the timliness of data.
Miscellaneous:
Robin went dryline chasing (no storms) with DOW and mesonet crews but returned by mid-afternoon. ;-)
