Weather Conditions:
Wind advisory out for the Oklahoma panhandle today; gusts reaching 60
mph at the site. Thin cirrus at upper levels and altostratus shields all
around. Temps in the low 80s. Dewpoint in mid-40's Robin measured gust
to 45 mph so far on handheld Kestrel.
Instrument Status:
AERI performing well. Had one indicator (MaxSample StdDev) go yellow
briefly around 1655 UTC and 1735 UTC. Surface station working like a
charm.

Science:
Completed a preliminary cross-sectional view of all the profiler AERI
data taken so far:

Boundary layer mission today well to our east. Went to planning meeting
at 1 pm at S-Pol. Plans are to conduct a convective initiation experiment
near S-Pol/profiling site vicinity as dryline expected to set up tomorrow
with isolated convection. Mobile mesonet and radar teams are meeting in
Woodward, OK tonight. All aircraft will participate tomorrow except for
DC-8 and Proteus (not on site yet).

Miscellaneous:
Wayne will pick up Tom Achtor at airport tomorrow morning in Amarillo.
Tomorrow looks promising for convective initiation in NW Kansas;
maybe some chasing is in order. ;-)
