AERI-bago Daily Summary
-----------------------
Date: 18 May 2002 CST (Saturday)
Location: Homestead Site (near Balko, Oklahoma), IHOP field campaign
Operator: Wayne Feltz
Weather Conditions:
Warm and windy, very dry dewpoints, high ~72, high clouds to west from
mountain thunderstorm activity
Instrument Status:
AERI ran well all day, stirling cooler problems have settled down,
instrument was running in automated mode when I arrived onsite at ~5:30
pm local time
Science:
Boundary layer mission was called off for today due to aircraft
problems. The mission will be flown tomorrow (Sunday) and will include
overpasses of the Falcon, P3, and King Air over the homestead site.
Miscellaneous:
I took over for Dave Tobin at the Bago today. All systems were running
like a charm when I arrived.
The University of Alabama - Huntsville MIPS portable profiling system
parked next to the Bago last night and ran Sodar, MWR, and 915 mHz wind
profiler. Scanning Raman Lidar is still down and will not be fixed at
least until Wednesday (a specialist will be sent out). Dave Whiteman
indicated that the SRL will now be able to do aerosol optical depth,
daytime moisture, and possibly temperature.
