-----------------------
AERI-bago Daily Summary
-----------------------

Date: 17 May 2002 CST (Friday)
Location: Homestead Site, IHOP
Operator: Tobin

Weather Conditions:

Cold and overcast in the a.m. Got about 0.75 inches of rain last night
and the Homestead site is very muddy. Softball and tennis ball sized hail
was reported in the county to the south of the site last night. Becoming
only partly cloudy and warmer into the late afternoon.

Instrument Status:

The AERI and ceiling fan auto-hatches worked fine with last night's rain.
The Bago is dry and the hatch opened and closed several times
 throughout the night.

Turned the stirling cooler back on at 8am. The detector temperature and
cooler current are more stable for now.

Science:

German Falcon overflight today @~5:30 pm - test flight for their
DIAL system and a doppler wind profiler.

Miscellaneous:

Wrote out CDs of aeri data (bago-aeri, C:\ftp\AE*) and surface data
 (simoon, ~/data/homestead/surface/) for 050702-051602.

Attended 1pm planning meeting at S-Pol. Tomorrow's boundary layer mission
with multiple overpasses of the Falcon, P3, and King Air over the Homestead
site from noon to 4pm - has been cancelled due to some aircraft problems.
Tomorrow is a down day but will keep the AERI running.

A message line has been set up for S-Pol, Homestead, and mobile systems
 in the area: 405-366-0503.

I'm swapping out with Wayne tomorrow - will leave the system running.
