GOES-10 (currently located at approximately 60 degrees West longitude, but inactive) Imager and Sounder data were formerly ingested by the SSEC Data Center in support of the Earth Observation Partnership of the Americas EOPA project--now being called GEOSS Americas.

Then on April 26, 2010, GOES-12 began drifting east towards a destination longitude of 60W, where the satellite was to assume station as the new GOES-South America satellite. GOES-South America schedules began on May 10, 2010. Throughout the South American deployment, GOES-12 Imager and Sounder data has/will be ingested by the SSEC Data Center.
