This is the archive directory for GIF images of realtime products 
derived from the GOES-West Sounder. For each derived product, you should 
typically find tarfiles corresponding to about the last 14 days.
Each tarfile contains all the GIF images produced for that day.

These products are all produced using the Li et al.(2008) 
nonlinear physical retrieval algorithm.  For a list of references,

Note:  Data from the GOES-East (13) Sounder has not been available since
       0847UTC 20Nov2015 (324).  Please see http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/blog/archives/20112

 1.) snoz*         -> Total Atmospheric Ozone
                         *full coverage (i.e., all 4 hourly Sounder sectors)
 2.) snpwa*        -> Total Precipitable Water (TPW)               
                         *full coverage (i.e., all 4 hourly Sounder sectors)
 3.) usce*         -> Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE) 
                         *Conterminous US coverage
 4.) usli*         -> Lifted Index (LI)                            
                         *Conterminous US coverage
 5.) uspw1.*       -> Precipitable Water for the layer 1.0sigma <--> 0.9sigma (approximately 1000 - 900mb)
                         *Conterminous US coverage
 6.) uspw2.*       -> Precipitable Water for the layer 0.9sigma <--> 0.7sigma (approximately  900 - 700mb)
                         *Conterminous US coverage
 7.) uspw3.*       -> Precipitable Water for the layer 0.7sigma <--> 0.3sigma (approximately  700 - 300mb)
                         *Conterminous US coverage
 8.) uspw.*        -> Total Precipitable Water (TPW)
