This loop of GOES-8 visible imagery shows the intensification and westward motion of the MVC-induced convection across eastern North and South Carolina on 06 July. This convection produced large hail (up to 1.75 inches in diameter), damaging winds, and heavy rain (2.36 inches in South Carolina, and 2.13 inches in North Carolina).
