20 March 1998 -- GOES-8 Sounder Precipitable Water
F3 Tornado in Northern Georgia

(this 9-image Java animation sequence will take a minute or two to load...)

(- Animation -)

This loop of hourly GOES-8 Sounder Total Precipitable Water (TPW) product shows that as the main squall line begins to collapse, sufficient breaks in the cloud field allow the sounder to show a region of residual moisture (TPW around 30 mm, dark blue enhancement) just south of the developing convection in northern Georgia (see the 10:46 UTC image).
