10 February 2002 | GOES-10 Wildfire ABBA Product

This loop of GOES-10 Wildfire ABBA product shows the cluster of processed fire and saturated fire pixels (red and yellow pixels) associated with the large "Gavilan Fire" located north of San Deigo CA on 10 February 2002. A small smoke plume can also be seen drifting westward over the Pacific Ocean during the animation. The gray areas are areas of high surface reflectivity. The gypsum sand of White Sands, New Mexico is visible during the daylight hours.
