This animation of 30-minute interval GOES-08 Wildfire ABBA product shows the rapid intensification of the fires across central Quebec on 05 July 2002, with a great deal of diurnal variation in fire behavior. The thick smoke can also be seen to suppress cumulus cloud formation as it was transported southward across the region.
