GOES-10 Sounder 7.0 um IR ("Water Vapor")

This loop of GOES-10 Sounder 7.0 micrometer IR ("water vapor") imagery shows the intensification of a mid-latitude cyclone over the North Pacific Ocean during the day on 16 February 2000. The imagery is centered at 38 degrees North latitude, 148 degrees West longitude. This sounder water vapor channel is most sensitive to features in the middle troposphere.
