The high/lows for the days around 1/24/67 suggest a synoptic pattern similar to 1/7/8:  In Madison, the high on the 24th was 54, and 2/3rds of an inch of rain washed away what had been 6&quot; of snow on the ground 6 days earlier (when the low was -21).  Prior to the rainy, warm day, highs crept up into the 40s with traces of rain the 22nd and 23rd.</description>
