CSPP Geo AIT Framework Version 2.1 Beta 1 Release
19 Jul 2022
The initial beta release of the Version 2.1 CSPP Geo Algorithm Integration Team (AIT) Framework package processes Level 1B (L1B) Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) data from the GOES-16, GOES-17, and preliminary GOES-18 satellites, and generates Level 2 (L2) derived geophysical products.
The Version 2.1 beta 1 release includes the following changes since the Version 2.0 beta 4 release:
- Preliminary support GOES-18 ABI, for the same products as GOES-17 ABI.
- Updated science code: core processing system and static ancillary data updated from May 2020 to May 2022 baseline.
- Fix for missing mesoscale clear sky winds.
- Fix for ancillary fetch connection-speed related failures.
- Fix crashes related to temporal cache consistency with fog product.
- Optimization to only cache L1B bands that are needed for temporal processing.
- Winds quicklooks produces separate pressure and speed colored plots.
- Winds quicklooks are automatically strided to make images more human readable.
- Fixed issue with detecting satellite ID in fog quicklooks.
- Various other issues affecting the Version 2.0beta software and products have been addressed.
Minimum system requirements for the CSPP AIT Framework software are as follows. Note that this specification does not account for quicklook image generation.
- Intel Xeon E5 v2 “Ivy Bridge”, 20-core (2 x 10-core), 2.8GHz CPU with 64-bit instruction support,
- 192 GB RAM
- CentOS 7 64-bit Linux (or other compatible 64-bit Linux distribution),
- 14 TB disk space (does not include long-term storage)
An internet connection is required to download dynamic ancillary data. The expected volume of dynamic ancillary data is about 2.6 GB per day.
