Weather Conditions:
Scattered cumulus in the morning. By 16:30 UT there was towering
cumulus to the southeast of the western site. A shower occurred around
18:00 UT and a thunderstorm and anvil were seen to the southwest.
Cirrus was overhead at this time. A second shower occurred at 20:05
UT. At 20:45 UT thunderstorms were to the northwest of the western site
and anvils were overhead. The sky was overcast during the evening. The
high temperature was near 90 F.
Instrument Status:
The AERI is working good. The hatch closed and opened OK in response to
both showers this afternoon. Ralph Dedecker arrived this morning to
perform operations to put AERI into rapid scan mode. Ralph turned off
AERI at 21:28 UT. It was back on at 21:32 UT. AERI is now collecting
data in rapid scan mode.
Science:
All of the planes flew today, but there were no overpasses on the
western site. The planes were looking at tropical convection today.
