3D Wavelet - Reversible Variable-Length Coding (3D Wavelet-RVLC) (Release 11/14/2005)

The 3D Wavelet-RVLC software has been developed for lossless compression of ultraspectral sounder data in support of the NOAA GOES-R data compression project. This software is an implementation of the algorithms described in the following paper:

B. Huang, A. Ahuja, H.-L. Huang, T. J. Schmit, and R. W. Heymann, "Ultraspectral sounder data compression using error-detecting reversible variable-length coding" SPIE Annual Meeting, San Diego, 31 July-4 August 2005, Proc. SPIE, 5889, 167-176, 2005. pdf

The software can be obtained from the following link:

3DWavelet_RVLC_Codec_Version_1.0

Note: The input files to the software are the digital count granules from the standard ultraspectral sounder data set publicly available via anonymous ftp.
