Sea surface temperature on January 24, 1995 at 16:11 UTC (top) and 16:57 UTC (bottom).  Beige represents land.  SST (in degrees Celsius) in the shallow coastal waters increases about 0.5 C as the morning progresses.  On this day water level was rising during the morning in Atchafalaya Bay and winds were relatively calm (less than 2 m/s) out of the northeast.

Sea surface temperature on January 8, 1995 at 16:22 UTC (about same time in morning as images for the 24th).    SST appears to be generally warmer (1-2 C) on the 8th compared to the 24th.
