The AERI instrument is an interferometer which measures downwelling infrared radiation from 3-25 µm at less than one wavenumber resolution every ten minutes. The AERI is self-calibrated to within 1% ambient radiance and has been environmentally hardened through use in an ongoing field campaign funded by the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) program.
